“I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, “Here I am, here I am”. (Isaiah 65:1)
Almighty God and Father who created all people in your image, look with mercy on the multitudes of people who have had to flee their countries for reasons of persecution and war. Lord, keep them under the shadow of your protecting wings, guide them, comfort them and remove the fears that beset them.
Father, we ask that you fill us with Your Holy Spirit to give us the heart and mind of Christ, that these refugees might, through us, come face to face with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Fill our hearts with Your love so that we may have mercy on them; to love, feed, clothe and shelter them. Jesus, you know what it is to be homeless, persecuted and to suffer. Help us also have the same compassion and love for them that You have, so that we may do Your will, to the glory of the Father. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew5:16)
