O Lord Jesus Christ, Our Great God and Savior, Who called our father Abraham out of his home in the land of Ur of the Chaldeans into a new and strange land, which you promised to him and his seed forever, You Who granted favor to your servant Joseph when he was taken away in chains to the land of Egypt, You Who heard the cries of Your people when they were held captive in the land of Egypt, You Who hearkened to the lamentations of Your people when they were carried away to Babylon, and You Who after becoming man for our sakes did deign to live as a foreigner in the land of Egypt, hearken unto the voice of our prayer and grant Your blessing unto those who have fled their countries in search of safety in this land and abroad. Stretch forth Your mighty hand upon them, and protect them from all harm, misfortune, and tribulation. Bless them and shelter them that they might know Your loving kindness, and bless us their neighbors to welcome them. For You have said of those whom You shall welcome into Your Kingdom at the Final Judgment, O Lord, “I was a stranger, and ye took Me in, (Matt. 25:35b)” for “inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me (Matt. 25:40).” Have mercy upon us all, and save us all, O Lord. And unto You do we send up glory, together with Your Father Who is without beginning, and Your All-Holy Good and life creating Spirit, always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
