DID YOU KNOW?

• Refugees don’t choose to leave home.
They are forced to flee because of war, persecution, or violence, often with only what they can carry.

• Most refugees are hosted by developing nations.
The majority of the world’s displaced people find safety in countries with far fewer resources than the United States.

• Refugees go through extensive vetting.
The U.S. refugee resettlement process includes multiple layers of security screenings, often taking years to complete.

• Refugees rebuild quickly, often within the first eight years of arrival.
Given safety and support, refugees become homeowners, business owners, essential workers, and contributors to their new communities.

• Many refugee women arrive alone or with children.
They often carry the double burden of trauma and providing for their families while starting over in a new culture.

• Refugees bring cultural richness.
From food and music to language and craftsmanship, they enrich the social and cultural fabric of every community they join.

• English is a major barrier.
Without language instruction, refugees struggle to access education, employment, healthcare, and legal protection.

• Faith communities play a crucial role.
Churches and congregations have historically been among the most effective support networks for refugees.

Gateway of Grace serves refugees from sixteen countries and six religious backgrounds.

What We Believe
We believe in God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
For our salvation, he came down from heaven and was crucified, died, and rose on the third day. He ascended into heaven and will come back to judge the living and the dead. We believe the Church is the universal Body of which Jesus Christ is the head. We believe all Christians are called to bear witness to Jesus Christ and carry on his reconciling work for the salvation of the world.
Values
01. Christ
We uphold the life, death, and resurrection of Christ as the reason for our mission.

We base the principle of our mission upon the Scripture.
03. Prayer
We fervently look to the Lord in prayer for our discernment, direction, and decisions.
04. Culture
We respect and appropriately adopt the ways of indigenous cultures.
05. Collaboration
We value mutually beneficial collaboration among Christians for achieving our mission.
